The departure day is almost upon me. I still feel a bit weird for reasons I have
explained before. Anyway its time to
pack up my bags and leave these shores. When
it comes to actually packing the suitcase I’m not too bad. I had so much practice when I was travelling
around with work. However, I am absolutely
rubbish at narrowing down what I really want to pack. Caroline would be forever making me take clothes
out of the case as I wanted to cover every potential eventuality. Even after Caroline’s attempts at reducing
the amount of t-shirts and shorts I had packed, you could almost guarantee that
half of the stuff still wouldn’t have been worn by the time I came home. Well it looks like this trip will be no
different. I have basically emptied my
wardrobe into the suitcase. I just don’t
know what to expect in terms of climate, occasion etc so I have catered for all
occasions.
I am really looking forward to going now and want to
thank all the well wishers who have contacted me. I will miss all my friends and family whilst away. You have all been fantastic. Most of all I want to thank my kids, Georgina and Joe, for being
great and supporting each other through this really difficult period. See you all when I return. X
