Who fancies
a short jaunt from Cardiff to Bristol on a bike? As posted on this blog just a
few weeks ago I set out three bike rides that were going to take place in
2013. The main purpose of these rides is
to get as many people together as possible and have fun. At the same raise some money for St Peters
Hospice. Across the three rides I have
targeted we raise £1000 from donations made by those participating. Achieving this target would be an excellent
effort and a personal triumph.
The first of
the three scheduled bike rides is fast approaching. A number of people have asked me to organize a
short (ish) fun ride to remember Caroline.
On 13th April a group of us will gather in Cardiff Bay setting
off to Millennium Square, Bristol. A
mere 50 miles! www.bikely.com/Cardiff-to-Bristol-cycle-route * note route may be amended.
The route is
fairly flat, although there are a couple of climbs. If you want to participate could you email me
on pwatson64@me.com . You should ensure that you have plenty of
fluid, energy bars and bananas. Pack wet
gear and spare inner tubes just in case.
Highly recommend everyone should wear a helmet. Most of all enjoy
yourself.
Any
supporters who want to cheer us on at the start in Cardiff or to see us home in
Bristol are more than welcomed.
The
completion of the ride means only one thing.
The day has only just begun. As
it is my birthday the following day I plan to hit Bristol on the evening. I will be booking a luxuriously decorated room
at Shanghai Nights for a night of fun and Karoke. http://shanghainightsbristol.co.uk/karaoke.html. Hopefully we can get 30 to 40 people
together to have a great night and celebrate my birthday. The itinerary
is below:
12 noon Arrive in Cardiff Bay
12 to 1pm Lunch
1:15pm Start the ride
5:30pm Arrive at Millennium Square, Bristol
7:30 to 8:30 Meet in Commercial Rooms, Corn St
8:30 Shanghai Nights
